DR. SAAD AL-KHALIFA

Dr. Saad Al-Khalifa is a highly experienced and respected ophthalmological surgeon with 27 years of professional experience in the region. Dr. Saad Al-Khalifa holds a graduate diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (1992-1998), and completed a Residency Training Program in ophthalmology at McGill University, Montreal (2004). He is certified by the Canadian Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (2004-2006).
DR. MOHAMMAD ATIF

Dr. Muhammad Atif Mian is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with more than 20 years of experience. He graduated from Nisthar Medical College, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan Pakistan in 1992. He took his residency in ophthalmology from Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore Pakistan. He did his Fellowship in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeon, Edinburgh, UK in 2000, with post-fellowship training from Alexandra Hospital, Singapore. He has served in the U.A.E, Saudi Arabia and has been in Bahrain for the last 12 years.

Dr. Ikhlas Mahmoud currently works as a consultant ophthalmologist with a total of 10 years of experience in ophthalmology. She graduated from Benghazi medical school in Benghazi, Libya in 2013. Undertook her Ophthalmology residency in King Abdullah University Hospital KAUH in Irbid, Jordan (2015-2019). She holds the Jordanian board of ophthalmology JBO 2019, MRCSEd 2020, The Arab Board 2021, FICO, FRCS Glasgow (ophth) 2024.

He holds accreditations from the Royal College of Surgeons Canada (2002) and the Medical Council of Canada (1998). He completed his graduate degree at McMaster University School of Medicine in Canada (1997) and his residency at the University of Toronto (2002). He obtained his fellowship diploma from the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Eye Institute (2003). He was elected as a Member of the Board of Directors and President of Professional Medical Staff at William Osler Health Center Corporation (2011-2012). Dr. Yasser has contributed to numerous publications and lectures at a post-graduate level at renowned universities.

Dr. Fatema Bushager is an Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal Surgery Consultant with more than 13 years of experience. She holds Oculoplastics, orbital and lacrimal subspeciality training from Birmingham Midland Eye Center Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust UK (2021-2022) and Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust London UK (2022-2023).
Dr. Maryam Bunajem

Dr. Maryam Bunajem is a recognized Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist with a proven track record of success in government hospitals. She is specialized in surgical and medical vitreoretinal disease, with expertise in medical retina and ROP screening, as well as phacoemulsification, SICS, and ECCE procedures. Her achievements include receiving the Prince Salman merit for health specialist workers in 2022 and serving as the Bahrain Arab board representative in ophthalmology. She is a training director and a mentor for the family master program at Arabian Gulf University. Her qualifications include: FRCSEd part A, Royal College of Ophthalmologists Edinburgh (2012); International Council of Ophthalmology, ICO, UK (April 2015); Arab Board ophthalmology, Arab Board of health specialization Ophthalmology, Bahrain (December 2008 – June 2015); Surgical and medical vitreoretinal disease fellowship, King Khalid Eye Specialist Hospital, Riyadh (March 2018 – March 2020).
Dr. Husain Alharmi
Consultant Ophthalmologist
Dr. Husain Alharmi is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with extensive training and experience. He completed his fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Pediatric and Adult Strabismus at the Singapore National Eye Centre, a SingHealth Duke-NUS University affiliated center in Singapore. He also trained at Singapore General Hospital and KK Women's and Children's Hospital. He holds another Fellowship Certificate in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Pediatric and Adult Strabismus from University Sains Malaysia. Dr. Alharmi is certified by the Arab Board of Medical Specializations and the International Council of Ophthalmology. He received his MBBS degree from King Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. He serves as a Tutor at the Arabian Gulf University. He is an active member of the Strategic Planning Committee at the Supreme Council of Health.
