ICL

The "implantable" contact lens

What is ICL?

During your free initial consultation, we'll assess whether ICL is the right solution for you. We'll discuss your personal vision goals and determine the best treatment option together.

Following this, you'll undergo a comprehensive examination where pupil dilation drops are used to accurately measure your eye data.

On the day of the procedure, which is scheduled after your preparatory examination, you are welcome to bring someone along for support. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, and the visit will take about an hour. Afterward, you can head home with your companion. The treatment is entirely painless, thanks to a local anaesthetic and a mild sedative, ensuring your comfort throughout, with the support of our experienced anaesthetists.

The lens is carefully inserted and precisely positioned in the eye through a small corneal incision. Afterward, the treated eye will be covered with a bandage for one day, and you'll use prescribed eye drops regularly to aid in a smooth recovery.

  • Yes, the ICL is designed to be a long-term vision correction solution. However, it can be removed or replaced if necessary, making it a reversible procedure.

  • ICL is ideal for individuals with high myopia (nearsightedness), thin corneas, or those who are not suitable for LASIK or PRK. It is also a great option for patients looking for a non-permanent but highly effective solution.
